Art Classes and Workshops

Process Art Class

Process Art classes focus on creating art through unique and engaging methods. Students explore fun techniques using a wide variety of materials. In process art we embrace curiosity, bravery, and take joy in the messiness. Many projects will incorporate scientific principles, alongside fundamental elements of design and color theory. While the main focus is always on the creative process, students will still finish each session with a beautiful and distinctive piece of art.

Unlock the secrets of the masters in this comprehensive, multi-media art series designed for creators of every age and skill level. Rather than rushing to finish a new project each week, we prioritize the process of excellence. This course is designed sequentially to build a professional-grade foundation, yet our flexible modular approach ensures that every session is a self-contained masterclass—perfect for both consistent students and drop-in creators.

What You Will Master
We will strip away the intimidation of the empty page by focusing on the core pillars of visual language. Students will gain a deep, technical understanding of:

  • The Architecture of Art: Mastering composition, linear perspective, and the principles of design to guide the viewer’s eye.

  • The Power of Light: Developing a "proportional eye" through intensive studies in value scales, linework, and shading.

  • Color Theory: Moving beyond the basics to understand the physics and psychology of color mixing.

The Evolution of Media
Our curriculum will transition through a variety of mediums. We will begin with the raw precision of graphite and charcoal to master form. As skills solidify, we’ll transition into the vibrant worlds of soft pastels, watercolors, and acrylics, applying our foundational rules to every new medium we touch.

Class Structure: Quality Over Quantity
In this studio, we value the "slow art" movement. Some weeks, students may leave with a finished study; other weeks, they will leave with a breakthrough in technique. Each session features a specific "Focus of the Day" (such as Atmospheric Perspective or Dynamic Contours), ensuring that even if participants drop in for a single class, they walk away with a tangible new skill to add to their repertoire.
